Obviously a very talented young man but fuck me I'd hate to be his team mate. How many runs do you think he has in a game that end up with him losing possession ? They don't show any but I bet it happens a hundred times a game.

Pass the ball son.

that is one of the most crazy things I have read...surely they won't play a kid against 25 yr olds....being a coach for youth hockey and that is my age group I coach 10-U when we put some of our very good 10's with 12 or 14 yr olds they get killed.....what if this 9yr old goes against 25 +yr olds....ridiculous

It is not much more than a publicity stunt. This kid is not really going to play on the team

He's going into their academy not their first team!

Agreed, the Kid has family in England anyway. He is just moving there, going to school and after school he trains with the other 9 year olds signed by the club. Kinda like pop warner football if actual NFL were behind the teams. The kid gets reviewed after every year to see if he moves up with the team or gets cut.

If you read the whole article it says they do this all the time and send these kids to their academy. Just a way to get his rights in a 10 years or so. Talk about drafting for the future. I thought having to wait for a QB after sitting a few years was agonizing enough:missingte

Yes however when the kid is 18 he has the right to sign a professional contact with any team that he likes. Mind you rarely would the kid sign for another club since usually the kid has grow up cheering for the same club but he still has the right too.
