went to dinner with 5 couples last night in Stamford, a bunch of taxpaying citizens, 10 votes for Romney, and we talked briefly about the election. We all were saying the right thing, we want what's best for the country and we hope things will be better than we anticipate.

then one guy, probably the best and most honest person among us says, "we're going to be fine, if they economy tanks and their shithole gets bigger, fuck them". We laughed because it was totally out of character for him, but then our conversation went down that path.

OK, so let's give them want they want. They suffered the most, they're doing far worse then they were in 2008, their families have been destroyed by the same policies they vote for every 4 four years, the same empty broken promises every four years for 50 years and counting. If they want to continue down this path, fuck them, maybe they need to bottom out before reality sets in.

So, "let them have what they want", it's their problem.

Heh? You might get your wish. If I were Reid & Co, I would let Bush/Obama tax cut to expire, let the fiscal mess to fall off the cliff, then I would pull it back just in time before mid term election, I'll be the hero to my voting base.

Politic is a dirty world. Plan your trades accordingly.

Willie: The Republicans had to go through a primary and the democrats had an incumbent. Different story next election. Next time they will have to have a primary, someone will challenge Hillary and then the entire nation can watch a party go through infighting. It is hard to go through a primary and not say what you mean, and some of what is said is negative and directed at another candidate. Romney came out of the Primary heavily bandaged and then you have all these same people that ran against Romney backing him. Considering the avg IQ of a voting democrat and even many independents Romney emerged from the Primary very vulnerable and even the first debate could not reverse that.

I hope the Dem's have several people throw their hats in the ring next time and they can mud wrestle their way out like the Rep's did this time around. Meanwhile, Obama will be fully exposed this time around and you can only give away an Obamphone once. How about a Hillary and Michelle cat fight in 2016.

What I've been saying for the past couple weeks. Give the democrats everything they ask for on the economy. After several years of unemployment up in the double digits, people will learn democrat economic policies just don't work.

Guarantee the economy will be growing and unemployment will drop if the Democrats get their wish. It has been used for the past century to tremendous success. Your theory has been used to lead to depressions and recessions... which is why they'll never do it. The Republican's don't want Obama to do it because they know for a fact that it would work just like it worked for Reagan and Bush.

Let's look at the facts... Obama has increased Govt spending by the lowest amount between 2010-2012 since the 50s. In fact this year we are on pace for having the first reduction in Govt spending in 57 years. Can't make this shit up. Something Guitarjosh will never acknowledge and he will come up with some kind of logical fallacy about unemployment rates. The fact is simple, the Govt needs to spend money just like it has been for decades. Let's look at the facts...

Obama's year-to-year spending increases. This does not include 2011-2012 which is probably going to dip below 0%

President Bush year-to-year spending increases. What a fucking surprise! Big Govt Repubs love to spend money...

You literally can not make this shit up. The theories about Obama being such a "big spender" is 100% absolutely false when compared to any of his predecessors for the past 60 years. The last time the Govt tried to balance the budget by cutting spending was 1937, which sent us immediately back in to a depression. Like I have said for 3 years as accurately as anyone can... if the Govt decreases it's spending like they seem to be on pace to do in 2013 we will go in to a recession. If they do not increase spending, we will go in to a depression. If they increase spending drastically the economy will be booming.

That is a 100% akphidelt guarantee.

1st, the first time i use a logical fallacy regarding economics will be the first. 2nd, I love how your proof for gov't spending being the fix for all economic issues are 2 charts that show gov't spending increasing and 2 recessions happening, and gov't spending decreasing and a recession ending.

Nah, it's tongue-in-cheek Vit. A way of venting -- It's the same as making a topic to talk about a bad ATS beat. The effect is it makes you feel better, even if it isn't lasting...... I just talked to a book that got hit on a website with Leftwich at 25/1 to score the first TD. He didn't know he got popped until this morning.

Lol, how ironic you say you'll never use a logical fallacy and in the same statement, make a logical fallacy! Now thats hilarious!!

Not a logical fallacy at all, it is just what your chart shows, and you know it.

You are still implying that the increase in spending is correlated with recessions. That is a logical fallacy and I have already gone over this many times and you know it. You know you are just cherry picking data. The graphs were about spending levels, you can not get any knowledge out of spendings effects on the economy though these two graphs.

I know you want to believe that correlation, but it does not exist. Which is why we call it a logical fallacy.
