Just updates.

I suck at posting winning picks. But since my last post early December, I was able to cut down losses a bit.

I also had started this week cutting my bet amount from $35 to $16. Makes me do better and really have some fun watching games for a change, as opposed to not watching them and hoping for wins on my bets when I log in.

Also, doing some management of cutting losses. For example, I would give me by mid-February to recover -$375 instead of being eager in the past to get it back.

Little note from someone who has been handicapping for a long time.

You said that you reduced your bet and are doing better.

the advice is to stay at that level.

There is a thing I call “comfort level “. Nobody wants to lose. But losing some of your bets is inevitable if you engage in the sport of sports betting.

The trick is to find your personal betting amount per bet where winning or losing does not impact your ability to look at the next game(s) you bet with the same objectivity that you used for your previous bet.

When the amount of your wager is too high so that losing changes how much you bet the next time it will scramble your brain and guide you to the bet that looks the safest. In fact that is the bet that will lose more often than it wins because the lines maker is sucking you in with a line that looks favorable to you but in fact is favorable to him.

Your mind needs to be loose when you bet. Betting with scared money will most often lead you to another loss.

Finding the amount of money you bet per wager that will not change your mind’s handicapping process for your next bet (win or lose)is your “comfort level “.

Hope this helps a little. Successful handicapping over a large betting sample is very, very difficult. There are few who are capable of doing it. But comfort level is one of the key ingredients.
